BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PLANT AND ITS PRESENCE
addition to the fern, the Horsetail is one of the oldest plants in the world. Its history dates back to the Paleolithic. It usually grows in the wild near rivers or water sources. It grows up to a meter in height. In the specific climate of Peru in the mineral-rich soil it grows up to 3 meters high and sometimes creates beautiful forests.
One of the main characteristics of Cola de Caballo is the high mineral content. Especially kalium salt and silica. The ash obtained from that plant contains 60-80% silicon, making it one of the richest plant sources of that mineral in the world. During cooking silicon dissolves in water, thanks to it it is well absorbed by the digestive system. It is really valuable because silicon is essential for the proper functioning of the body and has a beneficial influence on metabolism.
